CASJE Research Digest

The goal of the CASJE Research Digest is to help Jewish leaders and practitioners navigate a complex and evolving Jewish communal landscape.

Each issue of the CASJE Research Digest features timely, expert-curated summaries of both peer-reviewed research and high-quality grey literature. However, we’re not just sharing findings; our goal is to foster critical engagement with data by providing thoughtful analysis of research methods, interpretations, and real-world applications.

This initiative emerged in response to a significant rise in research studies following the October 7 Hamas attacks against Israel. With support from the Jim Joseph Foundation and a new two-year commitment from The Diane and Guilford Glazer Foundation, CASJE is proud to bring the digest to the field on a regular basis, continuing CASJE’s mission to make high-quality research more accessible and impactful for Jewish communal professionals, organizational leaders, and philanthropists.

CASJE’s Research Digest shares expert-curated summaries of key research studies relevant to American Jewry.

Jewish leaders and educators need to understand how our community is responding, feeling, and engaging in a post-October 7th world. Immediately after that day, many researchers launched studies, which are still underway, around these and other important areas of inquiry.

This digest will enable us to share findings quickly so we learn together, avoid duplication, and strengthen our communal knowledge. Funders and practitioners will better understand our community's needs, enabling all of us to elevate Jewish life and learning at this critical moment.

President and CEO of the Jim Joseph Foundation
